  • “The Fashion for Silesianness? A Trend or the Foundation of Modern Regional Policy?”
On April 23, 2026, Urban Lab in Racibórz hosted our event dedicated to the promotion of Silesian culture and the Silesian dialect by local governments. The programme included a presentation of research findings on the activities of local government units in this area, a workshop session focused on sharing good practices, and a discussion bringing together researchers and practitioners involved in regional policy. The event created a space for the exchange of experiences and for dialogue between academia and local government representatives engaged in shaping regional cultural policy.

On March 27, 2026, we had the opportunity to meet with participants of the Ząbkowice University of the Third Age to discuss the growing challenge of disinformation about the European Union. Dr. Filip Tereszkiewicz explained how misleading narratives are created, why they often appeal to emotions and social fears, and how to responsibly verify information related to European affairs—especially in border regions, where issues of security, borders, and international cooperation are particularly important.
The meeting aimed to strengthen media literacy, encourage critical thinking, and build resilience against information manipulation.

On March 26, 2026, a meeting was held at the General Secondary School in Wolsztyn with students from both the school and the General Secondary School in Grodzisk Wielkopolski, focusing on disinformation about the European Union. During the session, Dr. Filip Tereszkiewicz discussed how to recognise false and manipulative narratives, how disinformation is created, what goals it serves, and how to effectively protect against it.
Special attention was given to the importance of these issues in border regions, where topics such as borders, cross-border cooperation, and international relations are particularly vulnerable to simplifications, emotional narratives, and deliberate manipulation. The meeting aimed to strengthen critical thinking skills and encourage a more informed understanding of Europe and European Union policies.
