Student activities
Our students are active in the Student Self-Government, the Academic Circle of Political Scientists, the Academic Circle of Film Experts, the ” Radio-Sygnały” Academic Circle (radio enthusiasts), the “Studencka” Academic Circle (press journalism enthusiasts), where they develop their research passions. They take an active part in the scientific work of the Institute and the Faculty, carrying out their own research projects. They also have the opportunity to invite prominent personages from the world of politics, culture and science. The state-of-the-art Student Cultural Centre is at their disposal.
What is taught in Global Studies?
Global Studies students explore interdisciplinary knowledge in political science, economics, sociology, culture and new technologies. In the course of their studies, they will acquire knowledge in the areas of global development theory, geopolitics, human rights and public policies. They will take a closer look at highly relevant global issues in subjects such as conflicts of the modern world, food and water in the 21st century, or urban development. They will also become familiar with alter-globalist movements, international organisations, as well as today’s trends and megatrends. Simultaneously, students will also gain the skills required to work in a multinational and intercultural environment.
The course will be based on the materials, research and professional experience of the academics who produced the Global Education textbook that won the Global Education Network Europe Quality and Good Practice Award.
