The summer school “Visible and Invisible Borders along the Borderlands of Contemporary Europe” has come to a close at the University of Pécs, Hungary. We were proud to co-organise this inspiring event together with our partners through the Institute of Political Science and Public Administration at the University of Opole.
From 1–6 June, the Border and Regional Studies Network (CEEPUS), coordinated by our Institute, organised a summer school hosted by our partner institution, the University of Pécs in Hungary. The event brought together students and academic staff from 11 universities across the network, representing Hungary, Poland, Czechia, Romania, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Slovenia, and Croatia. Throughout this international programme, participants attended lectures, workshops, and simulation games, while also presenting their own research projects. The summer school included field visits to the Hungarian–Croatian border region, featuring a boat trip along the Drava River — the natural border between the two countries — as well as visits to the cities of Osijek and Vukovar.
Our Institute was represented by three PhD candidates — Weronika Koston, Khrystyna Shelvakh, and Jakub Grochowski — as well as Dr Bartosz Czepil and Dr Wojciech Opioła.
